I've seen at least a few people confused about the choice of film for the theatrical trailer of the Michael Biopic. It's attached to Wicked: For Good, the sequel to the first Wicked, which is a retelling of The Wizard of Oz. We all know Michael played the Scarecrow in The Wiz (Motown's retelling), but after watching, Wicked: For good, I ended up needing a place to write down what was running through my head, so why not share it? Casual stream of consciousness post. I will include spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie and want to, read this later. If you don't care to, for any reason or another, I'm gonna have the gist of it here.

First, this didn't really occur to me until after the ending snapped me to attention, but Elphaba, the libeled "Wicked Witch of the West", was a powerful force on the correct side of social justice, who recognized the wrong being committed in her society before she knew who was behind it or how to fight. As soon as she gained that understanding, she consistently stood firm on her values and fought for what was right in the face of heavy scrutiny and opposition. Sound familiar?

Furthermore, when she spoke out and began helping the oppressed, she was mercilessly attacked by those in power, who turned every single person in the land of Oz against her with lies and propaganda. Again, Sound familiar?

Now, the Wizard and his sorceress companion control every single bit of propaganda, information, and public opinion. Everything is carefully orchestrated and built on lies and fraudulence, but it's acknowledged that the public WANTS to believe it. After telling Elfeba that he could tell them all the truth but they simply won't believe it, the wizard says, "Back where I come from we got a whole lot of people who believe all sorts of things that aren't true, you know what we call it? History."

Anyone remember that day, July 9th 2002, when Michael announced to the world, "The history books are lying, you need to know that! You must know that." Hmm...

Two of the individuals Elphaba does her best to help and save turn directly against her, even though her only action was in their best interests, they are unhappy with the results, so they make it her problem and join the witchhunt. Sound like any money-chasing individuals you can recall whom Michael offered help at first?

So, we have social justice warrior and character assassination parallels between Elphaba and Michael. Interesting enough, with both working against a largely controlling society of people who just put on the rose [or emerald] colored glasses and tell themselves it's wonderful while a small powerful group runs to their own benefit.

So for now, we have a little bit of consideration as to why a Biographical Picture about the most influential man who ever lived [personal opinion I know.] is tied to a fantasy musical style film. Then there was the ending.

You may or may not be aware that a previous film, Oz the Great and Powerful, about the wizards arrival in Oz, was affiliated with Michael's son Prince Jackson and had a couple of false death illusion scenes in it, fueling certain Death Hoax believers that these were clues from Michael himself that he was still alive and letting people know that. I have another post about other death hoax clues. Admittedly something doesn't add up about the circumstances of Michael's death, but certain people take some things too far. Some things really are coincidences, or orchestrated by others who are not Michael. That being said, this scene from the movie hit me like a ton of bricks with the implications that this was the movie chosen for the Michael biopic theatrical trailer.

ELPHABA FAKES HER OWN DEATH. Yes. The Wicked Witch of the West, in the scene we all know too well where she's melted with a bucket of water, is revealed to be alive after the announcement of her death is made public. Elphaba allows Oz to believe she is dead in order to escape her scrutiny after realizing that her public image has been tarnished beyond repair and she will never be accepted to publicly continue her fight. She passes this task to Glinda, and leaves for the Land Beyond Oz.

There have been multiple movies tied to Michael's name which involve fake deaths. "Skyfall", a James Bond Film, begins with Bond using a fake death to gain a vacation. [Personally, I can't remember how the crazy faux Journalist tied Skyfall to Michael beyond a building next to the MJ one show, which sounds a little far fetched... how long ago was the building named? were there not alternatives considered for the show? is Michael actually involved in planning such a thing, wouldn't he be easily tracked down if he was near the estate or projects with his own name on them? Plus, multiple Bond films have Bond faking dead, a very common thing for a spy. My two cents on that.] "Oz the Great and Powerful", affiliated with Michael's son Prince, has those two illusory deaths used to strike fear into the villain upon the wizards spiteful returns. "The Illusionist", mentioned by Latoya at one point, depicts a magician faking his death as well as his lovers murder so they can escape her betrothal and control of the monarchy in order to be together. Most of these are casual mentions and affiliations with family.

This seemed much more blatant. Michael's life story. Any number of films to attach this preview to, and it's yet another movie with a blatant fake death, to escape from scrutiny no less. Is it an actual message? Is the estate toying with people despite the Jackson Family repeatedly speaking against the death hoax? Regardless, it was incredibly interesting to me to say the least.

Here's a kicker. Everyone was so excited that Stranger Things referenced Michael. But they didn't just reference Michael... They VERY specifically, referenced Michael playing the scarecrow in The Wiz. Specifically Michael's Ozzian lore. While Michael's life story is currently previewing in theaters attached to Ozzian lore where the main protagonist fakes her death. Am I going f**king crazy?

I had someone tell me that the story line isn't new. I know that. I never read the book in school but I saw it everywhere and heard kids singing parts of it. The fact that this wasn't some reveal just makes the choice feel MORE deliberate. Whoever put that trailer with this movie KNEW what kind of story they were connecting to.

I was surprised that crazy faux journalist hadn't said anything about it yet, it's right up her alley of claiming clues for herself. But I wanted to write about it as it's been wracking my brain since I saw it. that's when happens when I have no one to talk to about it directly LMAO. Okay peace out.

The point is not...

This isn't about conspiracy. Well, it's not about whether he's still alive. That is not the point I'm trying to make from any of this. The stuff that doesn't add up and the fact that it fuels said con
